JD(U) to meet Bihar CM, Sharad Yadav on Palamu bypoll issue

Ranchi, Feb 17 (UNI) The JD(U)'s Jharkhand unit today announced it would field its candidate in the forthcoming Palamu parliamentary bypoll.

However, the final decision would emerge after talks with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on February 20, state unit president Jaleswar Mahto said.

The party's state unit had decided to be in the fray after the steering committe meeting held here this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the BJP, JD(U)'s ally, was also preparing to fight the elections.

Mr Mahto, after the steering committee meeting, told reporters here that they would first talk to Mr Kumar and then to party's national president Sharad Yadav on Wednesday.
