GCCI seeks sales tax revision

Ahmedabad, Feb 17 (UNI) Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has urged State Finance Minister Vajubhai Vala to revise the sales tax that is charged at four per cent both on raw materials and finished products.

A GCCI delegation met Mr Vala recently and made the representation. Mr Vala assured that if goods are transferred from one place to another within the state, they will not be subjected to double taxation.

He said if traders file for refunds, enclosing all necessary documents, the refunds would be made within 15 days of the application.
