B'deshi nationals attempt to murder 4 persons in Meghalaya

Shillong, Feb 17(UNI) Four persons were seriously injured when a group of Bangladeshi nationals attempted to murder them in Meghalaya's Balat-Ranikor village bordering Bangladesh.

The incident occurred on February 15 when six Bangladeshi nationals, armed with lethal weapons, forcibly entered the village and assaulted four Indian villagers, state's West Khasi Hills District Superintendent of Police Dalton P Marak told UNI here today.

Mr Marak said the Bangladeshi nationals also robbed away cash and other belongings of the four victims.

''They entered inside the country by dismantling the erected barbed fence wire,'' Mr Marak said, adding that the criminals soon after committing the crime fled to their own country.

Meanwhile, police said a case has been registered in this connection.
