Rajamundry, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasad Rao today denied the Telegu Desam Party(TDP) leader Yerran Naidu's allegation that his family members misused the special power to obtain mining leases in Srikakulam District.

Talking to newspersons here, he said his family was involved in mining business for the last 15 years and no favour was showered on them.

Mr Rao said TDP failed to solve the problems of people during its ten-year tenure. Congress on the other hand, not only assigned lands to landless, but also retrieved the lands from grabbers, he added.

He said considering the performance of the Congress in the last three years, people would vote for the party in the ensuing Corporation polls.

BJP leader and the former Union Minister of State for Home, Ch Vidyasagar Rao said both Congress and TDP were having rebel problems and the chances are bright for his party in the coming polls.

The curtain came down for campaign this evening and the polling would be held on February 19.
