9 dead, 12 hurt in two separate accidents in Marathwada
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Feb 17 (UNI) At least nine persons were killed and twelve injured in two separate accidents the Marathwada region today.
Police said six persons were killed on the spot and nine injured, three of them seriously, when a jeep in which they were travelling collided head-on with a tanker at Ramnagar locality in Jalna district about 75 km away from here.
The incident occurred at around 0330 hrs, police sub inspector Vijay Thakurwad told UNI over telephone.
The police have arrested the tanker driver Sanjay Waman Ingle (27), a resident of Parbhani district, Mr Thakurwad said.
The victims were residents of Dongargaon village in Nanded district and were on their way to a pilgrimage Shani-Shignapur.

The injured have been admitted to the nearby government hospital, the police said.
In yet another incident, three persons were killed and three others injured when a speeding truck collided head-on with a car at Chitegaon under the jurisdiction of Chikhalthana police station in Aurangabad.
Police said the victims were travelling from Parli to Malegaon in the car and the truck was on its way to Beed when the vehicles collided with each other near Chitegaon bus stand.
The deceased were identified as Sheikh Javed Sheikh Moinoddin Qureshi (34), Sheikh Ansar Qureshi Saudagar Qureshi (35), and Sheikh Tayyab Sheikh Amir (55).
The injured have been admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital at Aurangabad.
The truck driver is absconding, police said.
