87 farmers club set up by NABARD in Tripura

Agartala, Feb 17 : A farmers club has been established in Ambassa, district headquarters of Dhalai, to stablise the socio- economic condition of the farmers in the district.

An official release here today said Tripura Gramin Bank has come forward to provide financial assistance to this club which has 73 members currently. The main objective of this club was to arrange financial assistance for the farmers of the district.

At present, there are 87 such farmers' club in Tripura, sources said. Of these total, eight clubs are located in North and South Tripura, eight in Dhalai and the remaining 26 in West District of the state respectively..

NABARD has been providing financial assistance to the banks which would facilitate these clubs.

India, being an agriculture based country, the importance of these farmers' club is endless.

With the increase of farmers' clubs in this state, agricultural production and the socio-economic status of the farmers would also improve, the release added.
