3 Kashmiris arrested from Southwest Delhi; drug racket busted
New Delhi, Feb 17 (UNI) Police today claimed to have busted an interstate drug syndicate with the arrest of three Kashmiris from Southwest Delhi.
Police recovered 8 kg refined 'hashish' from Abdul Qayum Gennie (37), Ashaq Hussain Sheikh (33) and Javed Ahmed Mir (33), all residents of Kashmir valley.
They were arrested from the Ring Road near Safdarjung Hospital yesterday and the truck used for transportation of the consignment was also seized, police said.
During interrogation the accused revealed that they procured the drugs from Kashmir's Pulwama district.
Police said central agencies, military intelligence as well as the Special Cell of the Delhi Police have been informed to jointly interrogate the accused to find out if they have any links with terrorists.
Further investigation is in progress.
