10-day training programme for animal keepers in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Feb 17 (UNI) Twenty-two ''Animal Keepers'' from various zoos in Gujarat and Maharashtra are participating in a ten-day training programme at the Kamla Nehru Park (KNP) zoo here beginning today.

The 8th Animal Keeper Training Programme has been entrusted upon the KNP zoo by the Central Zoo Authority, New Delhi, a KNP release said here.

Of these 22 keepers, three each have come from Solapur, Mumbai, Baroda and Surat, two each from Borivali National Park (Mumbai), Aurangabad, Pune Zoo-1 and Pune Zoo-2, and one each from Sundervan Snakes Park and KNP (Ahmedabad).

The keepers will be provided scientific training on how to take care of animals, including their food, hygiene, and sanitation needs, the release added.
