Subodh Mohite meets MPCC President Prabha Rau

Mumbai, Feb 16 (UNI) Former Shiv Sena MP from Ramtek Subodh Mohite, who met MPCC President Prabha Rau here today, said he would join the Congress.

He was accompanied by former Sena leader and present State Revenue Minister Narayan Rane.

After the meeting, Mr Mohite admitted that he would be joining the Congress but refused to speak on the reasons for leaving the Shiv Sena and said he would make a detailed statement after he was formally inducted into the party.

Mr Rane said ''The date of Mr Mohite's formal induction into the Congress would be announced soon.'' He claimed several Shiv Sena MLAs and MPs were in touch with him.

In reply to a question, Ms Rau said ''It is obvious that Mr Mohite met me because he will be joining our party.'' Former Minister of Heavy Industries in the BJP-led NDA government, Mr Mohite quit the Sena as well as membership of the Lok Sabha, earlier this week.
