Rs 15,000 crore investment made in Haryana in two years: Hooda

Chandigarh, Feb 16 (UNI) An investment of Rs 15,000 crore has been made in Haryana during the past two years and investment of Rs 35,000 crore was in the pipeline as against the investment of Rs 40,000 crore made during the last 40 years since the formation of the state.

This was revealed by State Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, while addressing a gathering at his residence of those people who had remained with him during the struggle period.

He said that he had fixed a target that Haryana would be made number one state in the country during the regime of the present Government and this gigantic task could not be achieved without unstinted cooperation of those who had always remained in the fore front during the struggle period while Congress party was out of power in the state.

He said that the target could be achieved jointly and the credit for this success would go to them.

Lauding the role of dedicated party workers towards the Congress party, he said that they were like family members who had always remained with him during the time of adversities.

Referring to the problem of power in the state, he said the demand of power was increasing by 14 to 16 per cent per year but steps had not been taken by previous governments to generate the power to cope with the problem.

He assured that during next two-and-a-half years the power problem would be solved as projects which would generate 5,000 MW power were in the pipeline.

Mr Hooda said that Congress President Sonia Gandhi never attended any engagement on Sunday but due to the love and affection of the people, she gave her consent to address the Navyug Rally to be held on February 25 at Sirsa.
