Police officer and a supervisor in vigilance net in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 16 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation (VO) has produced challan under prevention of corruption act against a police officer and a supervisor in the court of Special Judge Anti-corruption.

A VO spokesman said that an FIR was lodged last year by one Bashir Ahmad Bhat alleging that Assistant Sub Inspector of police, then posted in police station Dooru in Anantnag was demanding a bribe of Rs 8500 for providing a report in a vehicle accident case.

He said a trap was laid by VO and the accused ASI was caught red handed while accepting the bribe money from the complainant.

Spoksman said the challan was produced today after getting sanction from the government for his prosecution.

He said in another case an FIR was registered last year against one Bashir Ahmad Sheikh the then incharge supervisor in the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department at Mirhana in south Kashmir.

The complaint of one Mudasir Ahmad Wani alleged that the accused was demanding Rs 1000 from him as monthly commission.

The accused was caught red handed while accepting bribe from Wani, who was running a commission based sale center.

The supervisor was arrested and challan was produced today after getting proper sanction for his prosecution from the government.
