Magisterial probe into Umrer firing begins

Nagpur, Feb 16 (UNI) A magisterial probe has begun into the police firing upon a protesting mob on February 6 at Umrer in this district.

The police had fired on the mob that was protesting against load shedding.

Additional district collector Umesh Kale has invited information related to the incident in writing between February 17 and March 5.

The information relating to the circumstances in which the firing was ordered, reasons behind the protest, role of government agencies, response of such agencies, useful suggestions and recommendations to avoid recurrence of such incidents have been invited.
