J'khand to have strong finance management:Deputy CM
Dumka, Feb 16 (UNI) Jharkhand Deputy Chief Minister Stephen Marandi today said the government was taking measurable steps to strengthen the finance management of the state.
Talking to UNI here today Mr Marandi, who also deals finance and commercial taxes, said the UPA-led Madhu Koda government was focussing on bringing transparency.
Mr Marandi said the government had decided to surrender the unspent amount of the developmental schemes rather than depositing it into the banks.
Criticising the erstwhile BJP-led NDA government, Mr Marandi said earlier the amount, which were deposited into banks, had adversely effected the state's development.
The Deputy CM also said this initiative of transparency in finance department would bring a positive effect in the bureaucracy and overall development of state.
He said government was also considering to increase the size of budget to provide better infrastructure and added that the commercial department would collect more tax in the present fiscal than the fixed target.
