HIV+ people unhappy with Mizoram health officials

Aizawl, Feb 16 (UNI) HIV-Positive People's Association of Mizoram has expressed resentment against the state's health department officials for not allowing them to inspect CD4 count machine.

Positive Network of Mizoram and Mizoram People Living with AIDS Society, the two associations of HIV-positive people alleged that the Aizawl civil hospital authority had refused to allow them to inspect the machine since its installation.

The CD4 machine is vital for their treatment, since the dosage for anti-retroviral treatment is decided according to the CD4 count.

According to the guidelines of the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), HIV-positive people or groups have the right to inspect the machine to their satisfaction, the associations alleged.
