Mumbai, Feb 16 (UNI) Adopting Gandhigiri, the Government Railway Police (GRP) today offered 'rose' to a person who crossed the railway tracks instead of using the railway bridge, at Kurla railway station.

GRP Senior Inspector M D Pawar told UNI over phone, ''Any person who was caught while crossing railway lines was given a rose, to warn them that crossing the railway tracks is dangerous and somebody was waiting for them at their home,'' GRP inspector M D Powar told UNI.

''We have given away about 40 to 50 roses to the persons who had crossed the railway line this morning, with a hope that they will learn something from this and will avoid line crossing henceforth, he added.

Earlier, GRP used to hand over the culprits to Railway Police Force (RPF) and took appropriate action against them. But, there was no improvement in behaviour of the passengers. ''That is why we have adopted this path' inspector Pawar added.
