DSCL unveils UPVC window system for high-rise buildings

Bangalore, Feb 16 (UNI) Fenesta Building System, a division of Rs 3,000 crore DCM Sriram Consolidated Ltd (DSCL), has unveiled its latest range of work class UPVC Windows and door systems, specially designed for the lifestyle-conscious people living in high rise buildings.

DSCL Chairman and Senior Managing Director Ajay S Sriram said ''the new state-of-the-art Fenesta range is designed and developed in India, using our in-house expertise to offer both comfort and ambience to home dwellers.'' Fenesta windows and doors made from unplasticised PVC were structurally strong, durable and termite resistant. They were highly cost-effective as they bring down air conditioning bills and require very low maintenance. A variety of colour and design options made Fenesta the preferred choice for builders, architects and individual consumers across the country, he said after the launch here last night.

These windows had been precision engineered to counter wind loads up to 3000 Pa (249 km/h) and withstand heavy rains. It was made unique by a special 'Hurricane Bar' to resist heavy winds and a 'Rain Track' that drained rainwater outside, preventing it from seeping indoors. These windows were most suitable in coastal areas, Mr Sriram said.

With the construction boom seen in Karnataka, the State accounted for 60 per cent of the market of the new product and in Bangalore alone, the company sold 80 per cent of the State's sales volume, he said.

The company had an order book of 2.5 lakh windows and it was also exploring markets in the UAE, especially in Dubai. It had an installed capacity of 25,000 windows a month.

It had sales offices in ten locations and fabrication facilities in Bhiwadi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. It would open six to seven more units in the next six months, he said.
