Different variants of tech fantasy products launched

Kolkata, Feb 16 (UNI) Wep Peripherals, a leading producer of IT enabled products, today launched four different variants of 'Tech Fantasy" products in Eastern India with a sales target of Rs 400 crores by next year.

Wep Pheripherals Managing Director and CEO R N Agarwal said the new products comprising 'Bounti BP-40',a compact retail billing solution without a PC, 'Bounti Rainbow',an 80 column high speed impact printer, 'Top UPS',a multi-functional UPS and a metallic body Pen Drive having biometric security and battery less display, would have a pan India presence within the next three months in more than 600 retail stores across the country.

"We have set up a wide marketing network through franchise partners in different states and was conducting numerous road shows to popularise our products," he said.

He said all the products, built indigenously, was the result of nearly two years long intense research and development work by company's own research team. The initial market response of all the products, because of their high competitiveness in prices and quality assurances, was very encouraging, Mr Agarwala claimed and hoped that within two years they could gain more than 40 per cent share in the country's IT pheripheral market.

Asked about his plan to market these products abroad, the Web Peripherals CEO said though they were produced in tune with the Indian standards, about 5,000 units could be exported to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh so far and the result was 'very encouraging'.

" Accordingly we are now planning to set aside about ten per cent of our total sales, numbering about 100,000 units, per annum for export to all the SAARC countries." He,however, ruled out immediate possibility of increasing the production of Wep Peripherals in either of their three plants in Kochi, Hyderabad and Himachal Pradesh despite the projected 20 per cent annual growth in demand. "We are also planning to bring out a number of other tech-savvy IT peripherals in near future",Mr Agarwal said but refused to elaborate more on their contents.

To another query he also ruled out the possibility of any acquisition of any company anywhere for a possible diversification in business. "We have no such plan at least till forceable future",Mr Agarwal emphasised.
