The Speaker urges youths to work for state's devpt
Itanagar, Feb 16: Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Setong Sena has urged the youths to work for the development of the society.
Speaking as the chief guest in the 23rd festival of Singpho community at Innao in Changlang District yesterday, the Speaker lauded the Singphos for their rich cultural heritage and exhorted the youth to take keen interest in preserving it.
''Rapid changing global scenario has differentiated communal harmony with linguistic knowledge of each other in the present society,'' he emphatically said and expressed serious concern over the increasing gap between tribes residing in the region.
He further appealed the elite and elder group of the community to set continuity of the festival involving the younger generation so as to render them a platform to realise the importance of the festival.
Besides, preservation of culture and tradition, Mr Sena also advocated for documentation of Singpho language, which is an endangered language, according to research.
He also suggested for bringing out mythological stories, folk tales in Singhoo dialect in order to secure it from extinction, sources added.
