150 Shiv Sainiks held in Varanasi on MahaShivratri
Varanasi, Feb 16 (UNI) At least 150 Shiv Sena activists, on way to perform the 'jalabhishek' at 'Shringar Gauri' shrine on the Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanwapi complex here, were arrested from various parts of the city today.
Police said the Sainiks were arrested from Godowlia, Pandeypur and Lanka.
The activists going to perform the jalabhishek of shringar gauri -- were arrested as a precautionary measure.
They were taken to the city police lines and set free in the evening, police added.
Meanwhile, district Shiv Sena president Gulshan Kapoor claimed at least 200 party activists were arrested.
