VO produces challans against Police official, supervisor
Srinagar, Feb 15 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir vigilance organisation (VO) today produced Challan against a police officer and an official of the Public Distribution Department in corruption cases in the court of Special Judge Anti-corruption here, A spokesman of the VO said an Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Nazir Ahmad Shah, then posted at Dooru police station, was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 8500 from one Bashir Ahmad Bhat for issuing a certificate in connection with the accident of his vehicle.
In a similar case, VO produced another challan against Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, Incharge Supervisor in Public Distribution Department Mirhama, Circle Kulgam for taking a bribe from one Mudasir Ahmad Wani.
On the complaint of Mr Wani that the accused was demanding Rs 1000 from the complainant, who was running a commission based sale center in the area, as commission a team of VO caught Sheikh red handed He was then arrested and after completion of investigation and accord of sanction for prosecution by the Government, challan was produced.
