Smuggler arrested with 10 kg poppy straw

Jammu Feb 15 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police has arrested a narcotics smuggler at Batote and recovered 10 kg poppy straw from his possession at the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway last evening, sources said today.

A truck was intercepted at Tringala on the highway, near Batote. A smuggler Gurjeet Singh managed to escape but later he was arrested, sources said The police had recovered 10 kg poppy straw from the truck.

A case has been registered against Singh under NDPS Act.
