Security beefed up at Mahakal temple

Ujjain, Feb 15 (UNI) Security has been beefed up at the famous Mahakal temple here in wiew of the Shivratri festival tomorrow.

Elaborate arrangements have been made to enable pilgrims, as also VVIPs, to have darshan of the Jyotirlinga, which will be specially decorated for the occasion.

Normally 'Bhasmarthi'(offering of ashes from cremation ground) is offered to the Shivling at around 0400 hrs daily, but on Shivratri it will be performed in the afternoon, temple authorities said.

The temple will remain open round the clock for the festival.
