Part-time teachers demand regularisation

Puducherry, Feb 15 (UNI) Part-time teachers of the Jawhar Bal Bhawan here resorted to a novel agitation by conductng an orchestra in front of the Bhawan to press for regularisation.

The Government Order regularising their service had been issued much earlier and the education department was delaying it's implementation, the teachers, who had put in six years of service claimed.

Meanwhile, the employees of the Khadi and Village industries Board here observed a fast in front of the Board's office to press their demands, which included promotion, release of seniority list and implementation of 37.5 hours work a week.

In another agitation, employees of the BSNL here staged a dharna before the office of the General Manager, demanding regularisation of service of temperory workers and a revision in the Travelling Aallowance for group "D" employees.
