Oracle technology expands into 17 cities

Bangalore, Feb 15: As part of its commitment to make Oracle technology and applications accessible to organisations of all sizes across high-growth cities in India, Oracle today announced that it has successfully completed the first phase of expansion into 17 of India's high-growth cities.

This brought Oracle's total footprint in India to 23 cities, Oracle said in a release here.

''As we rapidly extend our geographic reach across India, we are empowering more and more Indian organisations with industry-leading technology to better compete in the global market. Together with our growing network of over 400 certified channel partners, we provide local expertise and support to help companies better manage their IT infrastructure and business,'' Oracle India Managing Director Krishan Dhawan said.

Over the last ten months, Oracle expanded its presence in Pune, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Indore, Lucknow, Nagpur, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Jalandhar, Guwahati, Nashik, Goa and Raipur. This added to Oracle's already strong presence in the cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata.

''Growth cities in India are experiencing phenomenal economic growth and will contribute significantly to the country's economy.

Organisations in these cities face challenges in addressing their operational efficiencies and scaling their business,'' Mr Anup Varma, Regional Sales Director, Mid-Market Technology, Oracle India, said. Various businesses such as industrial manufacturing, dairy, healthcare, mining, steel or machine tools production, diamond polishing and processing were looking for the right IT partner who could successfully support them in their ventures, he added.

The release said Oracle had a strong and growing stable of certified partners, which include value-added distributors, Ingram Micro India Pvt Ltd and Sonata Information Technology Ltd as well as many reseller organisations, Independent Software Vendors and System Integrators to address the needs of organisations in India's growth cities.
