Officials on election duties in Uttarakhand insured: CEO

Dehradun, Feb 15 (UNI) All 75,000 officials, deputed on Assembly Election duties in Uttarakhand, have been covered under accident insurance policy amounting to Rs 5 lakh, Chief Election Officer N Ravishankar said.

Through an official release, he said the insurance would cover all officials including police personnel, PAC, Central Para Military Forces, Home Guard, PVD, watchmen, Forest officials, vehicle drivers, cleaners and other government department officials.

The total amount would be paid even in any case of casualty.

The insurance amount would be paid by the Oriental Insurance Company, the release added.
