Mohite-Patil inaugurates Rankala Festival
Kolhapur, Feb 15 (UNI) State Cultural Affairs Minister Viajysingh Mohite-Patil today said the state government was making all efforts to create an identity of Kolhapur as a tourist destination on the world tourism map.
He was addressing the inaugural function of the four-day long Rankala Festival organised by the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) here. District Guardian Minister Harshwardhan Patil presided over the programme.
The Festival is organsied annually by the KMC since 2002, to attract tourists and encourage state cultural arts, which was lauded by the minister.
Renowned artists such as pop singer Phalguni Pathak, Ghazal maestro Pankaj Udhas and others will perform in the festival.
