Mix trend in metal prices
Mumbai, Feb 15 (UNI) A mixed trend was seen in metal prices, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.
In the ferrous category, brass cuttings slashed by Rs 100 per quintal on sluggish demand and copper heavy, copper utensils and brass utensils remained flat.
In the non-ferrous category, copper wire bars and zinc slab fell by Rs 100 and Rs 500 per quintal respectively due lack of fresh demand while lead ingot rose by Rs 100 per quintal because of higher advice.
Tin slab and nickel cathode hiked by Rs 10 and Rs 30, respectively, on good demand from retailers.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 29,900, Copper utensils - Rs 28,000, Brass utensils - Rs 22,800, Brass cuttings - Rs 23,800 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,700.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 33,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,400, Zinc slab Rs 17,500, Lead ingots - Rs 7,600, Tin slab - Rs 620 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,910 (per kg).
