Lui-Ngai-Ni celebrated in Manipur

Imphal, Feb 15 (UNI) Manipur today celebrated Lui-Ngai-Ni, the seed sowing festival of the Naga tribes, with pomp and gaiety.

Governor S S Sidhu had declared a holiday today adding the occasion was recognised by the Central Government as a tourism festival.

Lui-Ngai-Ni strengthens the bond of friendship and oneness among the people, he said.

Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh also wished the people happiness and prosperity.

The United Naga Council (UNC) said the festival cannot be organised at one venue due to the ongoing state Assembly polls.
