K'taka Assembly adjourned without transacting any business
Bangalore, Feb 15 (UNI) The Karnataka Assembly was adjourned for the third consecutive day today without transacting any official business as the Congress members continued their dharna, demanding immediate election to the Legislative Council Chairman's post.
As soon as the House assembled, Congress members, led by Leader of the Opposition N Dharam Singh, trooped to the well of the House, even as Deputy Speaker N Y Gopalakrishna, who was in the Chair, commenced the question hour and called Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha leader Vatal Nagaraj to ask his question.
However, the Opposition members started shouting slogans, forcing the Deputy Speaker to adjourn the House briefly on two occassions.
When the House re-assembled, the Congress members continued their protest and the Deputy Speaker adjourned the House to Monday.
Later, talking to newspersons outside the Assembly, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said the issue of holding election to the Council Chairman's post would be resolved by Monday.
