Jharkhand to bring new rehab policy next month: Koda

Kandra, Feb 15 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today said the much awaited Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RR) policy will be indroduced in next month to facilitate setting up of new industries in the state.

Talking to newspersons here on the sidelines of the foundation stone laying ceremony of the 270 MW thermal power plant of Adhunik Thermal Energy Limited of Adhunik group, Mr Koda said the government was reviewing the existing RR policy.

He said the government would incorporate private-public participation in the new RR policy and it would be brought in such a way that the villagers, displaced due to industries, would get their due share.

Mr Koda said many upcoming projects including Tata Steel's 12 MT green field steel plant at Tontoposi in Seraikela would begin after the introduction of the new RR policy.

He said the government was also planning to introduce a flexible and industry-friendly industrial policy soon. The government was ready to provide land for the prospective investors in the state,he added.

" We are ready to provide land to the industrialists, who are interested to invest in the state," he said and added a rapid industrialisation would augur a balanced and steady economical growth in the state.

However, Mr Koda said the site for setting of Mittal steel plant was not finalised yet.
