Janata Party demands President's Rule in TN

New Delhi, Feb 15 (UNI) The Janata Party today alleged that the DMK, PMK and MDMK were providing safe haven to LTTE cadres in Tamil Nadu and demanded imposition of President's Rule in the state.

Pointing to the recent seizures by the Coast Guard of smuggled weapons of the LTTE, detonator suicide belts and medicines for carrying out terrorist activities, Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy said it should act as an eye opener.

In a statement, Dr Swamy said the LTTE was spreading its wings in the state, converting it into a terrorist hub again.

He demanded imposition of President's Rule in the state as was done in pre-1990 following LTTE's activities when he was the Law Minister in the Chandra Shekhar government.

Dr Swamy said, ''I demand Dr APJ Abdul Kalam impose President's Rule in Tamil Nadu since parties like DMK, PMK and MDMK were aiding and abetting the LTTE to have a free run in the state.
