IJP demands Karpoori Thakur Formula in UP

Lucknow, Feb 15 (UNI) Indian Justice Party (IJP) today demanded the implementation of the Karpoori Thakur Formula in Uttar Pradesh for providing 27 per cent reservation to Muslims.

''The UP government needs to take lessons from Bihar, where reservation has been provided to Muslims by implementing the Karpoori Thakur Formula,'' IJP president Udit Raj said addressing a news conference here.

Castigating the state goverenment, Dr Raj alleged Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav claims to be a well wisher of Muslims, but he is truly anti-Muslim. He is a political humbug and never did anything for the community.'' He said now Muslims have become aware and will not be carried away by Mulayam's crocodile tears.

''At present, IJP is the right choice and Muslims have realised it,'' he claimed.
