HP launches lowest-priced server and latest version of OS

Mumbai, Feb 15 (UNI) As the booming Information Technology (IT) and Information Technology enabled services (ITeS) fuels India's exponential growth rate of nearly 9.2 per cent this fiscal, IT major Hewlett-Packard (HP) today launched their lowest-priced HP Integrity rx2660 rack-mounted server and a new version of the HP-VX 11i operating system, here.

''Servers, even at the lowest-end of the price spectrum are priced at 5-6 lakhs. For the first time now, we have launched our server whose price-range starts at Rs two lakh, the Country Manager of HP, Kamal Dutta, pointed out.

''Small and Medium Business (SMB) segments continue to show very impressive growth, and IT is the key enabler for efficiency and effectiveness. We have priced our product on the lower side so that they can avail of our product which are designed to handle the growing business demands of tomorrow,''Mr Dutta explained.

''The HP Integrity rx2660 rack-mounted server comes with a 3-year on-site warranty directly from HP at the customer's site. We also have a finance option wherein the customer can lease our product,'' the HP's Product Manager Suresh Menon added.
