HC asks Haryana To file reply on land for Metro
Chandigarh, Feb 15 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today asked the Haryana government to file replies to the writ petitions filed by Gurgaon-based R K Enterprises seeking directions to quash the notifications issued by the authorities acquiring their land in Sikandarpur Ghosi and Nathupur villages.
The division bench of Justices K S Garewal and Ajai Lamba of the has deferred further consideration of the matter to February 23.
It has been contended by the counsel for the petitioners that the land in question had been acquired for public purpose in November, 2006 by the Haryana government. However, instead of utilising; for the purpose for which it had been taken over, the land had been passed on to Delhi Metro Rail Project, which is illegal and against declared policy.
Also, the acquired land included a 30 feet long green belt which in any case should have been preserved.
