Ex-UP minister acquitted in criminal case
Varanasi, Feb 15 (UNI) The special chief judicial magistrate court here today acquitted former Uttar Pradesh minister and BJP MLA Ajay Rai in a 2004 criminal case.
The case pertained to an assault on then joint director (education) Srikrishna Pathak, where Rai was accused of attacking the education department official at the Government Queens College.
Hearing the case, special chief judicial magistrate Suresh Chandra Arya acquitted the former minister of criminal charges for want of sufficient evidence.
All three witnesses in the case filed by Mr Pathak had earlier turned hostile.
