Eurotech launches USB Gateway for Skype

Bangalore, Feb 15: Eurotech Technologies, the city-based leading technology distribution company, today announced the launch of high-performance USB-Telephone Gateway that enables the user to make and receive Skype call by connecting an analog phone or a cordless telephone to the gateway.

In addition, the Gateway can also be used to forward incoming Skype calls to a remote telephone or cell phone. The Gateway switches between regular (PSTN) and Internet calls. The unit works with any regular or cordless telephone and rings normally for both regular and Internet calls.

A company release said here that in the increasingly converged worlds of voice and data, the fast, easy and lightweight concept of the BestNet USB-Telephone Gateway has superior interface for PSTN lines and comes with indicators for Power, Line and USB when they are in use. The USB audio features are compliant and well suited with USB 2.0 Full speeed operation and USB audio device class specification 1.0. The USB Gateway simply plugs in between the telephone network access and the terminal device.
