Crew member of Delta Airlines commits suicide

Mumbai, Feb 15: The body of an American national, who worked as a crew member with Delta Airlines, was found in a room of a five star hotel in south Mumbai in the wee hours today.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Pratap Digaokar said Marilin Duktav (50), believed to be a crew member in Delta Airlines, was found dead in room number 311 of Taj Intercontinental Hotel.

The deceased had come to the hotel to take rest last night and at around 0215 hours, police received a call from the hotel staff that a woman had allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with the curtains of the window.

Mr Digaonkar said police had recovered a letter from the hotel room which she had addressed to her mother. However, he declined to divulge any details about the letter.

The Colaba police has registered a case of suicide and the deceased's family members have also been informed about the incident in the US.

The body has been sent to Maharashtra Government's J J hospital for portmortem and thereafter, it will be kept in the morgue there, the Colaba police sources added.
