Court directs CID to file report on fake case

Patna, Feb 15 (UNI) The Patna High Court today directed the crime investigation department of Bihar to conclude the ongoing investigation into recovery of high valued fake currency notes at Chapra district and submit report to the court within two months.

A division bench comprising Justice Aftab Alam and Justice Rekha Kumrai passed the order, following an information given by advocate general P K Shahi, that a special team was constituted under Additional Director General (CID) to probe the recovery of fake currencies.

The court gave the directions on a PIL filed by one Vijay Kumar Singh. Through the PIL, Mr Singh had pleaded for CBI probe into the fake currency case lodged at Chpara police station in 2003.

In his petition, Mr Singh had stated that huge quantity of fake currency along with over thousand fake certicates of different univeristies of the state was recovered during police a raid on December 11, 2003.
