Assets worth crores seized in raids at IT Commissioner premises

New Delhi, Feb 15 (UNI) In raids across ten locations in three cities, the CBI unearthed assets worth several crores belonging to a Kolkata Income-Tax Commissioner (Appeals).

The raids conducted at the residential and official premises of Income-Tax Commissioner (Appeals) K Hari Prasad, his relatives and associates in Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai led to the recovery of property documents and share certificates worth crores, said the CBI here.

While gold and diamond ornaments worth lakhs were found from his lockers, ten bank accounts, in the name of Prasad and his relatives, have been frozen following the raids conducted yesterday.

Besides a flat at posh Banjara Hills, the accused owned two villas near the hightech city of Hyderabad whose worth was around ten crores.

Property documents of his brother and sister estimated at about Rs seven crore, share certificates worth Rs 65 lakh and Rs 1.14 lakh cash, were also recovered from his residence.

Property documents of two acres of land at Kollur and more than an acre of land at Khajaguda on outskirts of Hyderabad costing around Rs five crore and that of two plots worth Rs two crore have also been recovered, the CBI added.
