A sunny day in Delhi, slight abatement in cold
New Delhi, Feb 15: After several days of cloudy weather, skies cleared up in the capital today with the sun emerging from the cloud cover leading to a slight abatement of chill sweeping the capital.
The sunlight led to a rise in minimum temperature to 9.6 Degree Celsius, from 9.2 Degree Celsius yesterday.
Cold South Easterly winds, however, maintained a slight chill in the air in the capital.
A slight fog also enveloped the Capital this morning though visibility levels remained at normal levels.
The cold wave conditions in Delhi are likely to further abate in the coming days with the weathermen forecasting a rise in mercury in the coming days.
''Day and night temperatures are likely to increase by two to four Degree Celsius over Indo-Gangetic plains during the next 2-3 days,'' the weather office said.
Weathermen have forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with the likelihood of mist or shallow fog in the morning hours.
