A report to be submitted to AICC about Thane;Dalwai
Thane, Feb 15 (UNI) Congress has taken serious note of the reasons and allegations for the defeat of the party in the Thane civic polls held recently and a detailed report in this regard would be submitted to the AICC soon, Hussain Dalvai, state observer and in charge for Thane today said.
Speaking to UNI after a review committee meeting held by the Thane city district Congress committee here late last night, Mr Dalwai called it a serious matter to receive several complaints by the congressmen and the party would look into them. ''However the immediate task of the party was to set right the house which is crumbled and plagued with rotten infights,''he said.
''The MPCC should take matters seriously and work towards the repair else in the coming assembly polls, the party would be routed,''he added.
The party workers from Thane city squarely blamed some workers for the defeat of the party candidates in the just concluded elections to the Thane Municipal Corporation.
The defeated candidates, during the meeting, flung serious allegations against the party leaders and activists for their inaction and anti-party activities and demanded action against the erring ones.
''MPCC took the election very lightly and did not not pay much attention to the campaign. None of the senior leaders were present for the electioneering,''they alleged.
Many of the ladies candidates alleged that this was a clear cut case of sabotage where the party local leaders and activists were openly working for the rival candidates or the rebels.
Mr Dalwai said that the rival factions should give up their anti party activities and work for strengthening the party else stringent action would be taken against them.
Mr Dalvai said the party has decided to, in the first phase, set up its unit in each and every ward of the city and give strength to the local unit to be strong. He directed the district president to work towards the formation of the committee and said that those, who have really worked hard during the election, should be rewarded.
As against those who worked against the party interest, he sought the names and said that action would be taken against them on lines of the rebels.
