Ramki Sundaram, new CFO of Air Deccan

Bangalore, Feb 14: Air Deccan today announced the appointment of investment banker Ramki Sundaram as its new Chief Financial Officer in place of its Finance Director M G Mohan Kumar.

The company, in a release here, said Mr Sundaram had ten year experience in the field of aviation and had been instrumental in spearheading the aviation business of Investec Bank (UK) Ltd, where he had a successful stint of two years before joining Air Deccan.

Mr Mohan Kumar had been associated with the charter division as a consultant since its inception. With the increasing demands of a budding airline in terms of time and huge investments, aircraft acquisitions and major financial deals, he found it prudent to work full time and joined the airline in 2004 as the Finance Director. Mr Mohan Kumar, who had taken a sabbatical from his flourishing and reputed business of a Chartered Accountants firm, where he is the founding partner, to join Air Deccan, would continue to consult for Air Deccan, the release said.

Air Deccan Managing Director Capt G R Gopinath said the skillsets and experience of Mr Sundaram would serve the company in its growth pace.
