Ahmedabad, Feb 14 (UNI) An overwhelming 99.5 per cent respondents have voted in favour of screening ''Parzania'' in Gujarat on a SMS/email ''Screen Parzania Contest'' conducted by a New Delhi-based NGO ''Anhad''.

Multiplex Owners' Association here on February 6 had refused to screen ''Parzania'' in Gujarat on the ground that its screening could disrupt the peace in the state. The Bajrang Dal and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha had threatened to disrupt the screening of the film in Gujarat saying it hurts the sentiments of the Hindus.

An ''Anhad'' release here today said what is happening to ''Parzania'' clearly shows that the whole system is rotten and deceit is the way of governace. Though the film is not banned officially, it cannot be screened as goons belonging to allied government forces ''unofficially'' threaten anyone who dares to talk about screening the film, the release said.

Meanwhile, ''Anhad'' has selected eleven prize-winning entries on the basis of the SMS/email messages and the winners will get an opportunity to view the film and meet the director and the cast in Mumbai during the third week of March, the release said.

''Parzania'' tells the story of a family caught in the vortex of violence unleashed on innocent people of Gujarat in 2002. It stars Naseeruddin Shah and Sarika in lead roles.
