No rains, but temperatures drop in New Delhi
New Delhi, Feb 14: The chill in the air continued today in the national capital with the minimum temperatures dropping to one degree below normal at 9.2 degrees Celsius, despite a partly clear sky and bright sunshine at intervals.
Though no rains were reported in the capital, cool winds continued to blow all through the day plummeting the mercury by two degrees C, one degree below normal, as compared to the temperature yesterday.
The maximum temperatures were recorded at 21.5 degrees C, two degree below normal and the minimum temperatures at 9.2 degrees C, which is generally recorded at this time of the year.
The weather office has forecast a mostly clear sky, likely to become partly cloudy by the afternoon or evening, in the next 24 hours. Possibility of thundershowers was also expected in some areas, it said.
Mist and shallow fog was a likely possibility in the morning with minimum temperatures hovering around 8 degrees C, it added.
Meanwhile, normal flight schedule was operated at the airport here with no disruption reported.
With visiblity at more than 1000 metres throughout the day, no flight deviations were carried out, said an airport spokeman.
''Though the 'safeguard procedure' was put in place, none of the flights was delayed,'' he added.
