Militancy in J

Jammu, Feb 14 (UNI) Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah today said millitancy was still prevalent in the state but its magnitude has come down following improving relations between India and Pakistan.

In an interview to a local TV channel tonight, Dr Abdullah said militancy was still prevailing in the state but its degree has changed. The progress in peace process between two neighbours will help reduce militancy in the state, he added.

Dr Abdullah, however, said Kashmir-centric peace process between two countries was being carried forward slowly and needs a boost.

On Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir's proposal of providing gas and electricity to Jammu and Kashmir, he said, ''It is a welcome step, adding, ''Both the sides should go for bilateral trades.
