Haryana: Rs 40 cr aid for Horticulture farmers
Chandigarh, Feb 14 (UNI) The Haryana Horticulture Department would provide financial assistance of Rs 40.18 crore to the farming community in the current financial year under National Horticulture Mission to encourage the farmers to adopt diversified agricultural activities.
A official spokesman said that various components being covered under the scheme were area expansion under fruits, establishment of model large and small nurseries, flower production, spices production, medicinal and aromatic production, rejuvenation of old orchards, integrated pest management, training to farmers, vegetable seed production and mushroom production.
He said the National Horticulture Mission had been launched in the state as 100 per cent Central sponsored scheme in February 2006 with a financial outlay of Rs 20 crore. A total of 15 districts were being covered under this scheme.
