Congress, NCP corporators warned against defying party whips

Akola, Feb 14 (UNI) Newly elected NCP and Congress corporators to the Akola Municipal Corporation (AMC) have been warned against defying their respective party whips during the mayoral elections.

Corporators defying the whip will be disqualified, senior Congress leader and former minister Sudhakar Gangane has said.

The warning was issued during a joint meeting of the newly elected NCP and Congress corporators yesterday, he informed. The warning has been issued in view of efforts by the Shiv Sena and the BJP to woo the Prakash Ambedkar-led BRP-BMS in order to prop up their candidate as the mayor.
