CM thanks voters of Punjab for upholding democratic norms
Chandigarh, Feb 14 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today thanked the people of Punjab for their ''love, affection and overwhelming support'' in the Vidhan Sabha elections held yesterday.
In a statement here, he said Punjabis had come out in large numbers to cast their vote for ''peace, progress and prosperity of this great land''.
Sounding optimistic, he promised that he would continue to work for all round development of Punjab and its people.
Commenting on the conduct of the polls, the Chief Minister congratulated the people for maintaining complete peace and upholding the highest democratic norms during the election process.
He also added a word of praise for the government officials, the police and the para-military force personnel for the smooth, free and fair conduct of poll throughout the state.
