Cash, gun looted from watchmen of school

Surat, Feb 14 (UNI) A gang of six looters attacked two watchmen and two employees of a school, Ravishankar Vidyamandir, in Amwa village today and looted cash to the tune of Rs 32,000.

Umra police said they have also taken away a gun from one of the watchmen.

According to police, a six-member unidentified gang entered the school compound at around 0200 hours and attacked watchman Rakesh Takore and Atharsing Jodhram. The looters then took away the gun from Jodhram.

Hearing the sound, two employees in the school named Surendra Behra and Vijay Behra came out. The looters then attacked them and took away Rs 32,000 from their custody, sources said.

All the four injured persons were admitted to New Civil Hospital.

A high level police team visited the spot and Umra police have begun an investigation, sources added.
