Case of Contempt against Chahal adjourned till March 14
Chandigarh, Feb 14 (UNI) The hearing in the contempt of court proceedings initiated by the Punjab and Haryana High Court against Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, the former media advisor to the Punjab chief minister, was today adjourned till March 14.
The full-bench comprising Justices Surinder Singh Nijjar, Surya Kant and Rajive Bhalla, earlier heard advocate Anupam Gupta, the court counsel in the matter, who quoted at length from official documents to stress how the respondent had interfered with the judicial process in the case regarding direct appointment of some persons as deputy superintendent of police under the sports quota.
The appointments were later quashed by the High Court.
